Padova (16 Km)

A town with very important artistic and cultural traditions, with numerous historically and artistically important monuments.

There are many squares in the historic centre of the town, together with the University, which is one of the oldest and most glorious in Europe. The University also conserves the oldest anatomic theatre in the world and the Chair of Galileo Galilei.

Close by, among the many religious buildings in the town, is the majestic St. Anthony's Basilica and the Scrovegni Chapel frescoed throughout by Giotto.

We must not forget the famous Pedrocchi Café, famous meeting place for artists and intellectuals for centuries, and the magnificent Prato della Valle square, the second largest in Europe.

Venezia (50 Km)

Of unequalled splendour, with the majestic St. Mark's Square and the opulent Basilica, offering the visitor one of the A most fascinating spectacles in the world.

Verona (80 Km)

Home of Romeo and Juliet, famous for the Roman Arena, now seat every year for the important opera season, and the enormous Brà square, which forms a semi-circle around the Arena.

Riviera del Brenta (25 Km)

An important link between Padova and Venice, an uninterrupted sequence of beautiful noble Venetian Villas. Among these, the Villa Pisani "Nazionale" in Strà, with works by Tiepolo and the famous Malcontenta Villa in Fusina, work of Palladio.

Bassano del Grappa and Marostica (50 Km)

Bassano del Grappa was of primary importance during the era of the Venetian Republic. The most famous monument is the Covered Bridge over the Brenta River, destroyed on various occasions, but then reconstructed in 1569 according to a project by Palladio. In Marostica, in its famous square, the famous living chess game is battled out each year.

Monselice, Este and Montagnana (Da 10 a 40 Km)

Monselice is famous for its "Rocca" or fortress and the Cini Castle. A of the "Seven churches"; it is undoubtedly one of the most typical medieval towns in the area.

Montagnana was an ancient fortified Carraresi town; it is surrounded by a perfectly conserved medieval wall, 2 km long, reinforced by 24 hexagonal towers. The lovely cathedral is inside the walls, rich with frescoes dating back to the 15th century.

Este, centre of the ancient Atestine civilisation, with witness to that period still conserved in the National Atestine Museum, it was developed during roman times and was very important during the Medieval and Renaissance periods.

Arquà Petrarca (8 Km)

Famous for the house and grave of the poet from whom it took its name, over the centuries Arquà Petrarca has maintained intact its medieval fascination.

Praglia Abbey (9 Km)

An antique Basilica dating back to the 9th century, it is quite definitely one of the historic jewels more worthy of note, famous in the world above all for its restoration centre of antique books.
